Apart from the worrying and deciding I have been having a lovely time in Cape Town. The weather was perfect Tuesday. Tuesday was spent relaxing, and walking around, near Colleen’s house. We went up to the Paddocks (a small mall), had breakfast at the Mugg and Bean, then found a walk-in Doctor for me, as I had a bladder infection from the plane trip. I was on antibiotics since Sunday, but they were not working, so I felt I had better take care of it. We found a Doctor and she prescribed a different antibiotic, and so back to The Paddocks, and I actually ate this time. I do not recommend travelling with a bladder infection, that was hell.
Then Wednesday morning my Mom arrived and we caught a taxi to the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. It was a blustery, rainy and chilly day, and walked the whole thing flat. It is pretty amazing place, absolutely huge and filled with everything you could desire. We called Colleen, and her and Duncan met us all for dinner at the Ocean Basket, it was lovely: calamari rings, calamari tentacles, prawns, mussels and yummy french fries. Home to bed!
Thursday was still cold and blustery – the wind can blow in Cape Town – and so we went to do more shopping, this time at Canal Walk (Century Center). I managed to get Charlotte’s christmas present and Mommy got a pair of shoes, and I also got a couple of books. After walking the place flat – lots of exercise this! We caught a taxi home, and got ready for dinner. We went out with Daddy and Sian, Richard and Michelle, it was fantastic. We went to a greek place called Alexis, so good. Home and to bed – exhausted.
Friday(yesterday) was a lovely day, the clouds cleared, though the wind did blow…and so we decided to go to the Goverment Gardens in town. We caught a taxi, and walked a bit, and found Greenmarket Square. oops! Now I have some amazing wire sculptures, some pictures and a basket. We eventually made the gardens, watched the squirrels, and saw some lovely trees and flowers. We then went the the South African National Gallery, which was not great. Though they had some interesting South African artists, it was very small. Home and I took a nap.
