Ok, it really is time to update I suppose. I have been putting this off a while, as I have had lots of news, and typing it up makes it a little too real.
I am going home, i.e. South Africa in November for about 6 or so weeks, for a back operation. I have pretty much exhausted my options here in America, and I have been told I need to take care of my back, in case I damage my nerves and cause serious damage. I have not committed myself to surgery fully – big surprise there – but I am scheduled for it pending an examination by a neurosurgeon. I will be gone over Thanksgiving, Christmas and New year it is expected, but not sure. In fact a lot of things are up in the air. If I don’t need the operation I will be back earlier if possible, so it is hard to make definite plans.
I am terrified to be exact. The operation is supposed to be “laproscopic surgery”, which is much smaller than what they offered here in America. It is also supposed to just take out the bone spur, and the theory is the hernia, if it is till there, will heal itself.
This is all really nerve racking and making me a little tense. But, I am looking forward to having this all done and being my normal bouncy self again.
