What an odd weekend, filled with many facets of my life. On friday I went to see Drifting at Road Atlanta. It was the trials, and attendance was sparse. I got to walk down to the paddock and see all the nifty cars and drivers, look in the engines and just generally be around souped up Japanese cars and asian boys. For those of you who do not know drifting, it is a video game version of racing, and will be all over the USA soon, due to the Fast and The Furious franchise producing a drifting movie.
Drifting: is a high-skill, high-powered motor sport that calls for drivers to control a car while it slides sideways at high speed through a marked course. It is similar to rally racing, but is done on a closed, paved course. It is judged on execution and style rather than just time.
Then all my excitment in having two whole days off was tempered by the fact I worked at the Facts on Saturday for the afternoon. It was not to bad apart from the creepy customer who eyed Me/Paul (we are not sure who) and who oozed up to us, and then stared at us. Creeeepy.
Then Saturday evening I went to the BlueFrog Cantina in East Atlanta with Charlotte and Greg and Teka for dinner. The margaritas are good and the ceviche, I still have not had anything else, though I had a tangerine margarita this time, as last time I had a pomegranate one.
Then home to get ready to go to Das Bunker (atl). Mdaniel went with me! That was supprising, we found it first time! And I saw lots of my friends and chatted. I do enjoy it as it is a social event, with no drama – as far as I know. Then home to bed!
Sunday was work, and then a housewarming/graduation/birthday party for Fred and Anne. I went with Teka and we had lots of fun. At least I did. The company was good, I learnt a new card game, and it felt nice to sit outside and watch the sun go down and watch people play Bachi Ball?, it looked like Boules to me.
Then finally home to bed.
For those of you who have donated to the kitty fund, thank you so much. They are doing great, and get their first set of shots today. They are now eating solid food, and lapping up water, so they are growing very quickly, like kittens do. In case you missed the stories or want to refresh your memory:
