I have a thing for the sound of clocks. The Tick-tock, Tick-tock sound I find soothing. It dates back to when I was 10. That was the Christmas I got my first clock radio. It was so cool, silver, and a clock with glow in the dark hands, and it ticked really loudly!
I spent many a night under the blankets listening to the radio and just listening to the clock tick and fall asleep.
When, I first moved to America it was one of the things i bought with me(I was only allowed to bring 2 suitcases with me!) My father was horrified when at Heathrow they unpacked my suitcase(they unpacked everyones) and he saw I bought my LOTR’s books and my clock radio. He told me how outdated it was and why didn’t I bring clothes instead?
Well, the radio still worked here and I was worried about not having music in my room! I had to rely on it for about a year(I heard WREK and WRAS on it), until I got mini sound-system(with a turntable) and then poof back to SA I went.
About 3 years ago it died, no more loud ticking in the night, the radio stopped working about 5 years ago, all corroded up, so sad. It sits on the floor of my room, thinking about ticking.
I miss ticking noises, they are so analog.
