Up eventually and I managed to start some laundry, and eat some breakfast before I went back Down Town with teka. I directed him to the right line and then wandered off to look at the band tables – Abney Park looks interesting, Paul Mercer is always nice, Ego Likeness seem ok – and then off to the Marriot to do a quick run through some dealer rooms. I soon realised that I had no cell service in the rooms, so was very quick, though I did see the Roger Dean table, and some cute T-shirts, and some goggles, and corsets…then back to the Hyatt to wait for teka.
After he got the badges, we stopped at the Army Navy Surplus store and we both got medic bags :), and he got a canteen for carrying, ummm water, yes water around.
Home to eat, and finish laundry then off to pick Jessica up for some girly time i.e. nails and eyelash shopping. teka decided to come with and we all went and got manicures, and Jessica and I each got pedicures as well. I quick stop in Little 5 for eyelashes and alcohol and we were done.
More home time, now just to rest up before getting ready to go out. Tonight I decided would be the geisha costume, and that was pretty easy, just make up was time consuming, and so by 9:15 I left the house. Arriving at Dragon*Con I got a disappointing call from blackoutdaddy saying he was not able to make it down to Atlanta this weekend, and so I lost my date for the Wedding Sunday and a hang out partner. But I did find lots of other friends: aesthtic and his wife, Jeff Clark, Danny who does Syntronik, etc, I looked for my friend Chris who does the Cobra costume, but could not find him, though many Cobra guys milling about. There were also lots of Crazy 88 people from Kill Bill, and several Iron Man costumes. Not one general theme I have noticed yet, as in last year lots of 300 guys, and the year before lots of Captain Jacks.
teka, Jessica and I wondered about a bit, Jessica and I having our photo taken a lot, and eventually hunger drove us the the Metro Dinner (24 hours and karaoke!!!!), the food was pretty good and quick and plentiful, and then I decided it was home time for me as I was pretty tired, and did not want to drive home too tired.
