I am in Australia, and I have no idea what day or time it is…
The flight over was really long, though the worst leg was from Atlanta to Los Angeles, loud people and cramped seats, but once in LA all things changed. I got in to the business class lounge and ate all their snacks (smoked salmon sandwiches and pineapple) walked around a bit then boarded to Fiji. It was weird driving out to the boarding tower(?), it felt like I was going into out-a-space. The seats were huge though, and my seat had a giant foot rest and lent way back. Ahh the pleasures of business class. I drunk my champagne, and managed to keep my eyes open for a light snack, and then I passed out. I slept until about 2 hours outside Fiji, and woke up for breakfast and to read my book.
Disembarking in Nadi – Fiji was great, it was dark and hot and humid, and the airport reminded me of the 70’s. The lounge was not open yet, so there was about 20 mins of sitting around, then into the lounge and a shower. Ahh bliss. After my shower I walked around a bit, then back to nap and eat some more, then up to board for the final leg. Funnily it was the exact same plane, I just got a different seat. They gave me champagne again, and breakfast and i read and lightly dozed the 4 and a bit hours to Sydney.
Customs and immigration were a breeze, and mdaniel was waiting for me! We caught the train to his apartment, where I showered and we were off again in search of food and then to his work. I met his work mates (now ex) and then finally time to sit and type, then off for drinks and same comedy show.
It is very overwhelming right now, I have no idea about distance, direction or anything but pretty awesome.
