Summer is on its way, bearing down on me like a little freight train, all the allergies and sweatiness etc, but it is Ice Cream Season:
Yesterday I went to the Cherry Blossom festival in Conyers, I wish I had read psyched_out review first as I would not have gone.
It was hot, and nothing very exciting there at all. The best thing was the brunch at Eclipse De Sol before hand.
We then all went home. mdaniel and I decided to try out the yogurt maker later and so, I now have 7 jars of home made yogurt sitting in my fridge.
4 cups whole milk
1/2 cup powdered milk
1 to 2 tablepoons honey
1/2 cup plain yogurt, room temperature
Pour milk into small saucepan and whisk in powdered milk and honey. Place over medium heat and bring to 120 degrees F on an instant read thermometer. Once milk has reached 120 degrees F, pour into a cylindrical plastic container, reserving 1/2 cup. Whisk in the reserved 1/2 cup into the yogurt and add back to the milk mixture.
Place yogurt mixture into yogurt maker with lids off, and set timer. When done, refrigerate 3 hours.
