This last week and a bit has been a whirlwind or activities. Starting Thursday last week:
Thursday:
I did final cleaning in my house, and went to work. At about 3:30 I left work to go pick up shazzamdabran, I was early, but paranoid I would be late. I was also a little worried I would not recognize him, or he me, as we have not seen each other in 15 years or so. While waiting for him, I was only spotted once by customers! (The Black Lips) I drove him home in pretty quick Atlanta traffic, and we actually made his bed and then woosh off to meet Charlotte at Eclipse Di Sol and we had a great meal. I then went to Borders to return a book, and pop by Whole Foods to see Mizzhello_robot. I talked shazzamdabran into getting an Oxford American. Home then and a fairly early night if I remember correctly.
Friday
Up fairly early and off to introduce shazzamdabran to my way of life here. First stop was The Original Pancake House, and he got called sweetie. Then Lenox Mall so I could go to the Kiehls Store and then the Apple Store(swoon – apples). I am totally addicted to Kiehls, and have not had a single allergic reaction to any of their products which, is amazing. They gave me samples of there olive oil shampoo and conditioner, and it is great! shazzamdabran then had a moment of weakness and bought a digital video camera..Xacti CA6. Next up was BookNook, and as usual it is always an experience for a new comer…We both found tons of books, and David was in a great mood.
After that was Your Dekalb farmers Market. Now this was fun, I always like taking first timers there. They are always amazed and kind of stunned by the choices. Home after this to make Shrimp Scampi though, with penne, not linguine and drink the bottle of wine we had bought.
Saturday
Not up so early this morning – aaah wine, but up early enough to make Waffles and Coffee – breakfast of champions! And then off to Six Flags for opening day! We stopped by Publix to pick up tickets and introduce shazzamdabran to Vitamin Water. Off then. It was not even that crowded at Six Flags and we rode almost all the rides with very little wait time. We rode:
- Georgia Scorcher
- Mind Bender
- Batman The Ride
- Goliath
- Monster Plantation
- Splash Water Falls
- Ninja (not me, to worried about my back)
- Great American Scream Machine
- Superman Ultimate Flight
- Riverview Carousel
- Acrophobia
- Georgia Cyclone
then back to my car to discover a flattish tire. I put air in, and decided to hope for the best. Dinner was had at Taqueria Del Sol, and then home to get ready to go out. First up was Halo, and teka was kind enough to meet us. We then proceeded to introduce shazzamdabran to atlanta style drinking i.e Shots! After he agreed to go Sky Diving the next day, we moved on to MJQ. It was pretty good. I finally heard Rob Wonder DJ, and he is really, really good.
Sunday
A day of rest for me, work and shazzamdabran went sky diving with teka. Later that night we all went up to The Highlander. We were supposed to play trivia, but got distracted by talking, Greg A and his lady Mackenzie showed up, as did Greg N and Melissa, and inside were anndr0id, Jared, Julie and Stephen. Another night of drinking ended.
Monday
Another slow getting going day, hmm. I am really starting to enjoy showing my city off, and my friends and all the good food, and places we have here :).Today was breakfast at home, and off to the Georgia Aquarium. I could not figure out how to book online, so in hope it was not as busy as last year we caught MARTA down, and walked from CNN/Georgia Dome Station. We got in no problem, and I have amazing photos to post! We then wandered around CNN Center a bit, debated going to the Thrashers game, and caught Marta back. Home to cook steak, and introduce shazzamdabran to Sake…
