So we arrived on Wednesday afternoon, all safe and sound. And the first step was we went out to my aunt and uncle’s house and settled in and met my cousin’s girlfriend (Bev) and all had dinner. Dinner was great – beef wellington, and home made chocolate mousse – and then for some reason exhaustion over took me and I went to bed.
Now Thursday was more exciting, we caught a train ino the city and started walking, and walked and walked! All the way up 5th Avenue, to Rockerfeller Center. There we went to the Top Of The Rock, the 70th floor and stood out in the cold and saw a 360 view of NY and everything. Coming down we ate at Dean and Deluca and walked up to see Saks’s display window for Christmas, then up to Cartier and Tiffany’s. Exhaustion was settling in, so onto Henri Bendel and some gifts and a make over on Charlotte and I!
Then a quick walk down to Times Square and to find my Dad at the Westin and a drink and wait to meet up with everyone and down to dinner in SoHo, at a restuarant called Public. Not great, and then the train back out the city and bed.
I notice how much I actually remember about being here on my previous times – record stores – and how much I cannot keep in my head – direction.
I love NY but, I don’t think I would want to live here, funny how that goes, maybe I should see it more in Summer.
