as usual the weekend was rush and a blur and me forgetting to update and rehash my week. Thursday night was Sons and Daughters and sadly in my eyes Decemberists – sorry iknowiona. I loved Sons and Daughters very Nick Cave influenced. Then to the Highlander to eat potato skins and then bed.
Up early friday to rescue a stranded motorist, and then off to Eatzis to meet tinkerboo for lunch and then BookNook where I actually worked for about an hour and earned a CD. Then lunch/dinner with Milton at the Flat Iron. Next up was going out to see Mark Gardner and BMRC who were great but, I was just there for Mark – Ride Dude!.
Next up was more rushing on Saturday, and visiting the lovely Misshello_robot and seeing the new Whole Foods! The juice bar is great, plus it is the size of a small country – huge in other words. Then Borders, and Frys and then…..The North Georgia State Fair.
Wow – a new fully american experience! It was in turns, surreal, outlandish, garish and amazing! The people, the smells and the sights! It was just like a book or movie I had seen about american fairs and carnivals. The wishbone Ferris Wheel was great, and the funnel cake was great, and the games seemed rigged, and the haunted ride was cheesy, and the animals were sad – talking of which, there were two elephants there….I wanted to free them and bring them home with me! And to top it all, I had a tummyache when I got home! A fully american experience!
And then was Sunday – work and hopefully in an hour I go see Nosferatu with a band playing accompaniment.
