PLACEBO
“Sleeping With Ghosts”
The sea’s evaporating
Though it comes as no surprise
These clouds we’re seeing
They’re explosions in the sky
It seems it’s written
But we can’t read between the line
Hush
It’s okay
Dry your eye
Dry your eye
Soulmate dry your eye
Dry your eye
Soulmate dry your eye
Cause soulmates never die
This one world vision
Turns us in to compromise
What good’s religion
When it’s each other we despise
Damn the government
Damn their killing
Damn their lies
Hush
It’s okay
Dry your eyes
Dry your eyes
Soulmate dry your eyes
Dry your eyes
Soulmate dry your eyes
Cause soulmates never die
Soulmates never die
Never die
Soulmates never die
Never die…
Soulmates never die
Soulmates never die
Soulmates never die
Soulmates never die
One of those odd weekends for me. I had my two days off, a day of work then another day off for July 4th. On my friday I did manage to go to Ikea and wonder around for about ummm, 3 hours! They have great stuff and I really felt like getting some of my stuff in order and buying pretty new things. My purchases though were very simple: a scale to weigh food, 2 new pillows, some tealights, some long candles, an ice cube tray – in star shapes! Not to bad, plus I had $10 off card! Then I was exhausted, still sick from Thursday and going home early. So I sadly missed Sleater-Kinney and Dead Meadow at the Variety Playhouse.
Saturday was not nearly as busy as it should have been, though I did get to eat at my favourite place – Taqueria De Sol and more sleep. Then Sunday was work again and not a fun day, not awful, but some really dumb customers! aaaaaaargh!
But, I did get to go swimming after work at mdaniel‘s place, and that is always fun. I love to swim so much.
Then Monday 4 of July . Was great, I cleaned and sorted out my linen closet, and even played with my tablet a little more. Then up onto the back of mdaniel‘s R6, and went to his house and swam some more. We planned on using the bike to go see fireworks, so we would not be stuck in traffic – weaving in and out…But, we were stymied by the rain. We left to go up to the Mall of Georgia but, the highway was really slick, so decided to take back roads, and then about 2/3rds of the way there saw lightening and that made us turn around and go back to Lenox Mall. But, by the time we got back the fireworks there were over. ~sad~
But, we did get to go between the slow cars, and that was fun, plus, we got the bike out. I must say, the R6 is not designed for passangers, my legs hurt afterwards – the foot pegs are the wrong height for me. But, it does make me want to get my bike running and learn how to drive it…
