My Auntie Rose died last night, she was 81. She was not really family, but my grandmothers best friend from school, her bridesmaid, they kept in close contact all their lives, a friendship spanning 76 years! When my sister and I lived with my grandparents, in Kempton Park, we used to go visit Auntie Rose and Norman, and drive past the Bunny Park and sometimes stop and feed the bunnies and play with them. Then spend the day at Auntie Rose and Norman, a braai, eat grapes, play in the pool. run up and down screaming, kids things, read all the books…She was a gentle, sweet person, who saw no bad or malice in anyone. My grandmother always thought of her as slightly unworldly.
I was going to go to The Devil’s Rejects tonight – I have a free pass, but nope I have to work until 8. So if you need a pass come by the facts and you can have mine… It is playing tonight at Landmark at 7:30, and the pass lets in 2.
