So Wednesday night was VNV Nation at Earthlink Live and I gothed up with my sister and went out. If you have never been to a show with me that I am excited about, you are missing out – in my opinion…. I love to go out, I love to dress up, perfume myself and play with make up. Going out is an adventure, everytime, I never get tired of it. And for a show, I think it out – sometimes. The band made an effort to go on tour, plan a set list, get a stage show together, supply merchandise and so I make an effort too.
I loved VNV Nation it was a goth/rivet/industrial/synthpop/ meet and greet, so lots of socailizing – who knows everyone’s name? And the band put forth a ton of energy, and played all my favourite songs – they all are, and i took pictures with my phone – up soon. Very late show though, home by 1:30 and my 30 minutes to relax then bed.
I woke up at 7 and sucked down my MangoTango and slept another 2 hours then up for work. At work I finally did my Mark Farina display (here’s hoping I win) and tried to work some. Then home to try nap and off to see the Black Keys at The Variety Playhouse. I actually took my friend Greg A who phoned me at the last minute as Milton never called. It was good fro Greg to go to a rock show – a bluesy, raw 2 piece – as he mainly knows house music and has no exposure to other stuff with his friends. The Black Keys were great! Very raw and and what an early Rolling Stones wanted to sound like…great in other words.
Today was another visit to the allergist, now I have an inhaler, to help the coughing and other than that I am doing a lot better, very little itching, no blood in my nose, no serious post nasel drip etc. Thank you so much mdaniel!
This weekend is looking full already, maybe Peter Murphy tonight – I doubt it, I would rather go work out, and tomorrrow night is Angels of Light. ~swoon~. The odd think is that The Black Keys and Akron who are opening/the backing band for Angels of Light are both from Akron, Ohio…
Next weekend is my Birthday, I am excited, growing older does not really worry me, what worries me more, is not growing as a person or learning new things, and getting older means I am hopefully still doing that. ~bouncy dance~ or for my darling virtually ~teletubby dance~
