So today I went where no extyger has gone before and went to an allergy doctor. Thanks to tinkerboo I had a recommendation and thanks to mdaniel I had threats and a ride. It was a 3 and 1/2 hour ordeal. I had questionners to full out, things to blow in and scratch tests and needle tests and more blowing things! Total exhaustion!
This is my back after the scratch test – a mere 5 or so minutes in!
I am allergic to all tree pollen they test for, hickory, pecan, oak, sycamore etc – I knew I hated nuts! I am also allergic to cats – I have 3! And even Dust Mites, I work at the Facts! OOPs. So now I am going to rattle like a bottle when I walk for a while as I have a inhaler, two types of pills and and extra steriod to take for a while and a nose inhaler – eew! They tested for food allergies and they came back negative, thank goodness. The biggest allergy in my family with food is diary and wheat, and I live on toast with marmite and chocolate milk.
I have a couple of changes I have to make, number one is a new comforter and a mattress cover, then maybe an electronic kitty litter box, just to mininmise my exposure to cat dander and dust mites. I hope by doing all the right things and taking all the right meds, I will have more energy and get up and go and can wear my contacts lenses again soon. I must say the Dr was very nice, not to many test and not dismissive of any concerns, which was my big worry. I also do not seem like I have asmatha – woohoo.
My next big thing is hopefully getting back into working out. I miss it a lot I have discovered, but, I need to find a cheaper gym and closer to my house, any recommendations? Plus a work out buddy would be great! I liked doing the eleptical and the weight machines, it made me feel mor confident in myself and stronger, so I am going to browse around.
