what a day! Got up at the crack of dawn (5:30) ate some toast and down to the beach charlotte and I went. Oops, it was freezing, the sand was icy cold still and the wind blew, so back to the house we went and to read and wait for the early morning mist to blow off and the flowers to open and to check the fish had not been eaten. At about, 7 or 8 the others woke up and the house moved and heaved with people and my dad strolling around checking on fish and making day plans. I actually put my swimming costume on and went down to the pool! It is a salt pool – no chemicals and watched the waterfall and the birds dive bomb in. Back home and Charlotte and I decided to try the beach again.
So we walked down -much warmer in fact the boardwalk was up to burning feet! We wondered down the beach south and looked at the sea’s debris, a dead seal, crab legs, empty mussel shells, trash and the awesome shapes of seaweed. We lay down and watched the sky and waves. Eventually our stomachs called as back home where we had more toast and a I had a grapefruit and then it was time to go out for lunch.
we went out to friend of Daddy and Sian called Gurda who lives in Clairmont, a lovely house and garden with a 15 year old cat. Her niece Anabelle was there. We had a lovely meal though Gurda put her foot in it by telling Charlotte that her eyes were not shiny so odd!
We then went to the mall to get food and exchange a dish for Sian and then on to the airport to get Charlotte’s missing luggage! Thank god it was there! Back home after a full day to relax and eat dinner and bed.
I forgot to mention how good it feels to be home and relaxed! I am hungry and feel so much calmer (holiday anyone?). I am hungry and still feel healthy, and i even sleep better. But, I forgot to go walk on the beach and see the stars and waves. So many stars, I had forgotten how beautiful they are.
Tomorrow I am going to spend time with Greg’s folks and the night, so we shall see how that goes.
