I went to see AC Newman last night at the Echo Lounge, he is the also in the New Pornographers. The opening band was Rogue Wave, and the Neilds(?). Rogue Wave was a little to twee and poppy for me. I like AC Newman even though the New Pornographers have moments of reminding me of Poco…
But, I find it hard to dislike a band with good songs, a sense of humor and a trumpet player…
Why does the Echo shows have to be so late though? That does bug me.
I am going home the 18 December! A direct flight only 22 hours I believe… I can’t wait to see my Mom and Dad and whoever else is going to be in Cape Town. I am planning on renting a car and going to Sedgefield and Knysna to see my Grandparents and old friends, I can’t wait to be in SA for summer (if only for 2 weeks) while it will be cold and nasty here. And I will be able to go swimming and maybe sailing and oh oh so many fun things.
