Well, it is two nights before Thanksgiving and that means…time to bake. One thing I get to do every Christmas and big holiday is make the dessert. My sister does all the big stuff: main course, vegetables, snacks, starters etc, but, I get to bake.
I love to bake, I love the reward when it comes out the oven and is all nice and sweet smelling, and I love the finicky adjusting of tastes, I bake everything twice. Test run then real deal. Yummy!
This year though, it is a simple dessert, baked apples with rum and cinnamon and raisins. Normally I do something fancy like a tart or even Tipsy Tart or Chocolate Mousse or my fanciest and hardest one Ginger Bread Cake!
I wish I baked more and had more incentive to bake. The only problem is that it is really time consuming and expensive. It seems so much cheaper to go buy desserts, but they never taste the same and the joy is just not there.
